Abbie is a Austin based artist working with oil paints but also enjoys mixed media. At Texas State University, I obtained a Bachelor of Studio Art, with a concentration in Painting. Her work embodies the theme of still moments in daily life, and the relationship of self to surrounding spaces. Professors such as Tommy Fitzpatrick, Liz Rodda, and Johanna Fauerso have inspired her studio practice. Outside references include female artists like Robin F Williams, color theory and mundane experiences. Spillane's work has been exhibited throughout the halls of the University and in the Texas State Art Galleries. Being an exceptional student, she has been on the Dean's List throughout several semesters while attending Texas State.
